ISOGRID

The TITAN-513M is an aerospace ISOGrid, a common form found in a Rocket Housing Assembly. Titan, Stuart, and Travis provide an overview and strategies for machining this advanced project.


STEP 1: Project Strategy and Overview

Titan provides an overview of the specifications and certifications of the materials used in both the Fixture and the Part.


STEP 2: Material Overview (Fixture and Part)

Travis analyzes the TITAN-513M print and provides in-depth strategies for meeting or exceeding the part specifications.


STEP 3: Print Overview

Stuart programs the Pre-Operation of the TITAN-513M in Mastercam, sets up his machine, and skims the material for flatness on a vertical milling machine.


STEP 4: PRE-Op #1 - TITAN-513M Setup, Programming and Machining

Travis performs a detailed inspection on the pre-operation of the TITAN-513M material.

Stuart provides an overview of the machine setup and CAM program for the first operation of Fixture Plate for the TITAN-513M.


STEP 8: TITAN-FIX-513M Setup, Programming and Machining

TITANS of CNC inspects the first operation of the TITAN-FIX-513.

STEP 9: Op #1 - TITAN-FIX-513M Inspection

Stuart installs the clamping pins into the completed first operation of the TITAN-FIX-513. He then installs the partially-assembled Fixture Plate into the Schunk Vero-S Quick Change Palette System, inside the DMG MORI DMU 50.


STEP 10: Fixture Plate - Installation

Stuart provides an overview of the machine setup and CAM program for the second operation of Fixture Plate for the TITAN-513M.


STEP 11: Op #2 - TITAN-FIX-513M Setup, Programming and Machining

Stuart machines the Fixture Plate Assembly complete inside the DMG MORI DMU 50.


STEP 12: Fixture Plate - Final Assembly

Travis performs an in-machine inspection on the completed TITAN-FIX-513 Fixture Plate.


STEP 13: Fixture Plate - Final Inspection

Stuart provides an overview of the machine setup and CAM program for the second operation of the TITAN-513M.


STEP 14: Op #2 - TITAN-513M Setup, Programming and Machining

Travis performs an inspection of the near-completed TITAN-513M, before the anodization of the part.


STEP 15: TITAN-513M - Pre-Plating Inspection

The TITAN-513M receives a Type-2 Anodize and Titan unveils the completed part.
